2024 ELECTIONS: WE ARE THE ONLY REGION TO LOSE ONE SEAT TO NDC…JEFF KONADU ADDO.
The Eastern Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu Addo, says they were the only Region to lose one seat out of their 25 seats for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Before the 2024 general elections, Jeff Konadu Addo targeted grabbing all the other eight parliamentary seats belonging to NDC in the Region to add them to their 25 seats, making it 33. Unfortunately, the NDC rather snatched one seat from them at the end of the elections, bringing their total seats to 24, and the NDC’s seats increased to 9.
According to him, NPP lost most of its seats across all the 276 constituencies in the country for NDC, but the Eastern Region is the only Region that stood on its feet to secure more parliamentary seats for their party despite losing 1 seat to their main opponent, NDC.
Konadu Addo then described their defeat as an ‘earthquake’ that surprised everybody, indicating that they were optimistic that they had already won the elections per their track records.
The Eastern Regional NPP chairman asserted these remarks during the first official meeting of the Eastern Patriot in Koforidua. The Eastern Patriot for NPP aimed to rebuild for power in 2028.
Jeff Konadu Addo stated that the leadership of the party did their best to maintain power, but the agony amongst some party faithful landed them in this embarrassing result.
He used the opportunity and pleaded with the members of the elephant fraternity to forgive those who didn’t treat them well when they were in power and come on board and help the party recapture power in 2028 to enable them to address their grievances.
