KWAHU WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS AHEAD OF DECONGESTION EXERCISE

 

As part of activities to decongest the municipality, the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has convened a stakeholders meeting between Driver Unions and Okada Operators on how to tackle sanitation challenges facing the municipality.

In a welcome address, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu West, Hon Tamimu Halidu emphasized the urgent need for coordinating and planning by the assembly.

He called on the GPRTU,Cooperative, Protoa, and Okada Operators to take the initiative by the Assembly to educate all roadside drivers to move the designated place allocated to the byKwahu West Municipal Assembly.

He assured them that his office remains open to all ,urging them to feel free to express the concerns and challenging them to confront them as a union.

He further announced the formation of a special TaskForce Eastern North MTTD led by the superintendent. Foster Asante to enforce compliance with all roadside drivers and traders selling at unauthorised areas.

The Driver Unions, on their part, promise to wor hand in hand with the Municipal Assembly in making sure the decongestion exercise goes on smoothly as planned.
