The Ashanti Region Youth Caucus for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused some party executives of making false accusations against former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor. Frank Basowa, the group’s representative, claims these executives are falsely alleging that Dr. Duffuor wants an Akan person as the District Chief Executive (DCE) or Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in Kumawu, while opposing a Zongo person for the role.

The NDC executives allegedly claim Dr. Duffuor is backing an Akan candidate for the DCE/MCE position in Kumawu. calling them a fabrication designed to mislead the public and undermine the truth.

Dr. Duffuor has provided financial support to the Kumawu NDC party, including funds to build a party office, which remains uncompleted.
He has also contributed to the development of Kumawu by providing essential services such as water and electricity.

Dr. Duffuor’s office is said to be inclusive, with people from all tribes, contradicting the claim that he favors one group over another.

Frank Basowa has given the executives a three-day ultimatum to provide evidence supporting their claims or face consequences.
