POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION AND DISCHARGE OF FIREARM

The Western North Regional Police Command has announced to the general public the arrest of two suspects in connection with the illegal possession and discharge of firearms during a funeral celebration.

On April 2, 2025, at about 1400 hours, the Western North Police Intelligence Department, with support from personnel of the Formed Police Unit, successfully apprehended suspects Frank Afoko, aged 41, and Kojo Agyapong, aged 31.

The arrests were made following investigations into an incident on March 14, 2025, at Attakrom, near Bibiani, where individuals were captured in a video that went viral on various social media platforms.

The suspects, together with others now at large, were seen openly discharging firearms without lawful authority during a funeral event.

The suspects were interrogated by the Regional Investigation Team led by the Crime Officer, and they admitted to being the individuals featured in the video footage. Both suspects have since been detained to assist with further investigations. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved in the incident who remain at large.

The Western North Regional Police Command reiterates its commitment to ensuring safety and security in the region.

The command therefore urges the general public to report any information that could assist in the arrest of the remaining suspects.
