On Friday, March 14, 2025, the Koforidua High Court adjourned the case challenging the legitimacy of Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Minority Chief Whip.

The case, filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), contests his eligibility as an MP and raises other issues arising from the December 7, 2024 General Elections.

During the proceedings, the presiding judge dismissed a motion that sought to bar Hon. Annoh-Dompreh from performing his duties as an MP while the case is being heard.

This ruling means that he remains the elected representative of the people of Nsawam-Adoagyiri and can continue to discharge his parliamentary responsibilities.

The court set Monday, March 31, 2025, as the date for hearing the substance of the case, where the arguments from both parties will be examined in detail.

Following the court session, Hon. Annoh-Dompreh met with party members and sympathizers who had gathered at the courthouse to show their support. Addressing the crowd, he expressed gratitude for their solidarity and unwavering confidence in him.

He urged NPP supporters to remain calm and avoid any confrontations with their counterparts in the NDC. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and respecting the legal process, reassuring them that justice will prevail.

“I understand your concerns, but I encourage all of you to remain calm and law-abiding. The truth will stand, and I am confident that justice will be served. The NPP stands for democracy, and we must uphold that value at all times,” he stated.

The case against Hon. Annoh-Dompreh is part of a broader trend where election outcomes are increasingly being contested in court. As the Minority Chief Whip, his position within Parliament and the NPP remains crucial, making this legal battle one of national interest.

With the next hearing scheduled for March 31, 2025, all eyes will be on the Koforidua High Court as it deliberates on the matter. Meanwhile, Hon. Annoh-Dompreh continues to serve his constituents, standing firm in his belief that the will of the people will ultimately be upheld.
