The youth in Akyem Afosu has called for a calm and peaceful environment in the Birem North District of the Eastern Region.

Speaking on behalf of the youth during a press conference, Baffour Owusu Aquah highlighted the importance of maintaining a stable environment as the community has already dealt with immediate Chieftaincy disputes for over a year

Akyem Afosu has endured a chieftaincy dispute that was properly adjudicated in court, and the ruling unequivocally affirmed Nana Kofi Owusu Amoh III as the legitimate and Chief of Akyem Afosu

He urged the citizens to resist any Chieftancy disputes that seek to incite violence or disrupt the peace in the community.

The youth leader seized the opportunity to admonish them to exhibit the nature of peace in order to live harmoniously with each other.

He also underscored the traditional rulers to refuse anybody who attempt to use destructive purposes for the Chieftaincy disputes and called for unity among the chiefs and community members, stressing the importance of working together for the progress of Akyem Afosu in the Birem North District.

Baffour Owusu Aquah, reiterated the Chiefs commitment in supporting the town with development by providing essential services, such as Afosu durbar grounds, Police station, completion of Afosu Palace, Roads, Clinic, Market, School and many of Community development

‘If any attempt is made coming Thursday to impose a rival chief on Akyem Afosu, the youth of Akyem Afosu will descend into any irreversible chaos and the consequences will be severe, and those responsible will have themselves to blame”she quizzes.

Stressing, people of Akyem Afosu are peaceful people who have shown restraint for far too long, but will not allow the town to be turned into a battlefield due to the greed of a few, and the time for action is now and urge the Authorities to act before it is too late.
