The Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana has extended heartfelt congratulations to Honourable Jotham Napat on his election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu.

His return to government marks a pivotal moment for the country’s political landscape, following the recent dissolution of the government by the President.

Honourable Napat, previously serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and External Trade, played a crucial role in shaping Vanuatu’s international relations.

Under his leadership, H.E. Ambassador Prof. Hugh Aryee was appointed Vanuatu Trade Commissioner to Ghana, fostering strengthened ties between Vanuatu and Africa.

Reflecting on their past collaborations, Ambassador Aryee expressed confidence in the Prime Minister’s leadership.

“During a working visit to Vanuatu, I had the privilege of meeting Honourable Napat in Port Vila, where we engaged in productive discussions on advancing business cooperation between Vanuatu and Africa,” he said.

“His vision for sustainable economic growth and international collaboration was evident then, and today, as he assumes the highest office in government, we are confident that his leadership will usher in a new era of development and progress for Vanuatu,” he explained.

Vanuatu presents numerous opportunities for investment, and the Trade Commission highlighted several key sectors where Ghana and Africa could forge new partnerships.

Tourism, agriculture, fisheries, renewable energy, and infrastructure development were identified as areas with significant potential for collaboration.

Vanuatu’s natural beauty and pristine environment offer abundant opportunities for African investors, especially in eco-tourism and cultural exchanges.

Agriculture, particularly the export of organic products like kava, coconut oil, and sustainable fisheries, presents untapped avenues for growth.

Vanuatu’s tax-friendly business environment, coupled with its commitment to digital innovation, further enhances prospects for fintech companies looking to expand in the Pacific region.

“The rise of digital currency and fintech solutions offers an exciting opportunity for platforms like [X] to explore partnerships in Vanuatu, further integrating African and Pacific economies,” the statement read.

Looking forward, the Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana anticipates stronger bilateral ties between Vanuatu and Africa, especially in trade, investment, and capacity-building initiatives.

The Commission expressed its commitment to facilitating business partnerships, trade delegations, and knowledge-sharing activities to further enhance economic cooperation.

Additionally, the Trade Commission congratulated Honourable Mark Ati on his appointment as Vanuatu’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and External Trade.

“His expertise and commitment to diplomacy will undoubtedly enhance Vanuatu’s global partnerships and create new trade opportunities,” the statement noted.
