A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Egyirba’s Foundation, has made notable contributions by donating items to the people of Mafi Wute in the Volta Region of Ghana.
Established in 2016, the Foundation is dedicated to helping the less fortunate by collecting unused items from individuals around the world and redistributing them to charitable causes.
Mafi Wute was one such beneficiary of their generous initiative.

During the donation event on Saturday, February 8, 2025, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Egyirba’s Foundation, Madam Eunice Amanda Egyirba, shared the organization’s mission with thetelegraphonline.
She explained that the Foundation was created to support underprivileged communities by distributing items that people no longer use.

“I reside in the United States, and my role involves creating videos to request unused items from people. Once collected, I personally bring them here to donate to charity,” she explained.
Madam Egyirba went on to say that a concerned community member reached out to her, bringing attention to the urgent needs of the people in Mafi Wute. In response, she began gathering donations, as she has done in the past.
The items donated included bicycles, clothing, shoes, cups, plates, exercise books, bottles, adult diapers, and more.

She emphasized that this donation is just one of many initiatives the Foundation plans to undertake, with more efforts expected in the future.
“We will continue this work till thy kingdom comes. We’re not stopping anytime soon. In fact, we’re planning additional donations at the School for the Deaf and Dumb, having already visited the School for the Blind,” she said.
Madam Eunice Amanda Egyirba also took the opportunity to call on philanthropists and fellow Ghanaians to join the Foundation’s mission.

“Everyone is welcome to contribute whatever they can, so that we can extend our support to others who are less fortunate and unable to enjoy the privileges we have,” she appealed.
Chief of Mafi Wute, Torgbui Akliku Ahorney II, commended Egyirba’s Foundation for their efforts, emphasizing that their contribution marks the first step in assisting the people of Mafi Wute.

“We are very grateful to Egyirba’s Foundation for soliciting items to give to this community. It is the first step, and it is our prayer that they will do well to relieve the stress in various communities,” he stated.
Torgbui Akliku Ahorney II also seized the opportunity to call on the government, philanthropists, NGOs, and Ghanaians to support the community, which is in urgent need of amenities such as electricity, network services, and sanitation facilities.

“As a small community, we would be grateful if they could extend electricity to the outskirts of the area where power is lacking. In addition, we would also be thankful for sanitation facilities,” he appealed.
“Furthermore, our telecommunication network is very poor. If there could be a way to stabilize the network, we would be grateful,” he added.

Mafi Wute is a small community of about 800 residents, located in the Central Tongu District. Majority of its inhabitants are farmers.
