Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has praised Ghana’s infrastructure advancements, highlighting the country’s airports as among the best in Africa.

Speaking at the 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogue (APD), she emphasized the critical role these facilities play in enabling regional and international travel.

She noted that Ghana’s modernization of its ports is aimed at boosting trade, while ongoing road and rural network expansions are connecting key economic zones.

“Our airports are one of the best on the continent, I must admit. Our ports are being modernized to facilitate trade, and we are expanding our road and rural networks to connect key economic zones,” she remarked.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also underscored investments in energy infrastructure, designed to ensure reliable and affordable power for industries and households.

She commended President Mahama’s dedication to infrastructure development, describing it as a driving force behind Ghana’s economic transformation.

However, she acknowledged that while progress has been made, much work remains across Africa.

She identified digital infrastructure as a critical area for investment, highlighting how mobile technology has already revolutionized financial inclusion across the continent.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also underscored investments in energy infrastructure, designed to ensure reliable and affordable power for industries and households.

“Our investments to energy infrastructure is a testament to our belief that access to reliable power is essential to industrial growth and economic stability,” she stated.

She seized the opportunity to commend Africa Propsperity Network and the AfCFTA Secretariat for creating a platform where leaders can collaborate for the development of their countries.
