
The Abosey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association is calling on President John Dramani Mahama to abolish the electronic transfer levy(E-Levy) introduced by Akufo Addo led administration during the covid-19 pandemic era.
According to them, the electronic transfer levy, which is a nuisance tax, has a disproportionate strain on lower-income households and businesses.

Communication officer for the association Mr Takyi Addo urged the president to go by his word as promised during his campaign tour to scrap betting tax and the E-Levy in his first 120 days in office because it has contributed little toward addressing the country’s economic structural challenges.
He is of the view that, the reintroduction of the road toll is right in direction, adding that trucks from neighbouring countries used the roads free without paying anything to the government of Ghana.
He made this assertion when some sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress organised a victory party for president John Dramani Mahama at Abosey Okai.
On her part, secretary to the Abosey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, Gifty Fianoo opined that President Mahama can not afford to fail Ghanaians in his coming serve the country.
“Looking at his demeanour,composure, and the appointment made so far, one can tell that President Mahama has really taken key lessons from the past, “she stated.
She pleaded with Mr Mahama to always involve the business community in decision-making for the betterment of the ordinary traders on the street of Ghana.
