Stephen Appiah, the former Black Stars captain, is set to be included as a member of the new Black Stars management committee. This development comes after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) dissolved the previous management team following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Appiah will join Dr. Randy Abbey, who is expected to chair the committee, as well as Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, president of FC Samartex, and Samuel Aboabire, chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association. The new committee is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Black Stars, including their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
This isn’t Appiah’s first involvement with the Black Stars management. In 2023, he was part of a newly constituted management team, alongside Samuel Osei Kuffuor and other members .The GFA is expected to officially announce the new management committee soon.
