Vice Chancellor at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani ,Professor Elvis Asare Bediako has been adjurdged as the most respected CEO in public University in Ghana at the 7th Ghana industry CEO awards.
The annual event is aimed at identifying and publicly recognising the most outstanding chief executives in corporate Ghana across a wide range of sectors from both private and public institutions.
Speaking to Oyerepa news,Professor Elvis Asare Bediako stated that the award has shown that their hard work as an institution over the years has not been in vain and it will propel them to even do more within the energy ecosystem of Ghana.
According to him,most of their research findings have been adopted by the government to help boost the energy sector in the country, which will help elevate the country’s economic growth.
Further, the vice Chancellor opined that the University of Energy and Natural Resources has a partner with a German institution to install a plant within the university to convert waste plants into energy in commercial quantities.
He called on the government to constantly support the university financially in their research findings within the energy ecosystem for the country to benefit from their academic prowess.
In conclusion, Professor Elvis Asare Bediako thanked his family,teaching and non teaching staff of the university for their support in making the institution the beacon of hope for Ghana in the energy sector.
