Chief of Kwahu Tafo and Kwahu Twafuohene, Nana Opoku Mintah II, has urged political parties to conduct their campaigns peacefully, emphasizing the importance of maintaining national peace.
He made this appeal while addressing community leaders and youth during the “Akwasidae” celebration at his palace.
During his speech, Nana Opoku Mintah II advised politicians to lead by example, demonstrating disciplined lives that inspire others to join their cause.
He stressed the necessity for leaders and supporters from various political parties to embrace tolerance and respect differing opinions to foster unity and peace.
He called on Ghanaians to be law-abiding, patriotic citizens committed to the country’s development agenda and to resist any temptations that could lead to political violence.
In a related statement, Nana Gyamfour Aduako II, the Queen-mother of Kwahu Tafo, highlighted the collective responsibility of Ghanaians to act as peacemakers.
She asserted that violence can be effectively prevented if the youth refuse to be manipulated into committing crimes or engaging in political violence.
She encouraged Ghanaians to focus on productive activities that contribute positively to their future development.
