Nana Opoku Mintah II, the Chief of Kwahu Tafo, has generously donated 1,000 boxes of various reading and specialized books to all private and public basic schools in the Kwahu Tafo Community.
This initiative is part of the “Empowering Young Minds” project, designed to foster a strong reading culture and improve literacy skills among students ranging from kindergarten to senior high school.
At a ceremony held at the Palace of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Opoku Mintah II expressed his hope that this donation would significantly enhance students’ reading abilities, expand their vocabulary, and develop their critical thinking skills.
He emphasized the importance of reading in opening up new possibilities and called on teachers to lead by example, encouraging students to cultivate a love for reading from an early age.
In response, Mrs. Janice Ohenewaa, speaking on behalf of the headteachers of Kwahu Tafo Basic Schools, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the chief’s generous contribution.
She underscored the vital role that reading plays in education and committed to mentoring students to improve their literacy skills.
She assured that the donated books would be utilized effectively to support Nana Opoku Mintah II’s mission of empowering young minds and enriching the lives of students through knowledge.
