Asafoatse of Onyasana, Asafoatse Kwame Beqoe, has appealed to Ghanaians to refrain from any form of violence during the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Umbrella Walk on Saturday, October 19, 2024, he emphasized the importance of peace, stating that this election is not about conflict but about voting for a competent leader who can address the needs of the people.

Asafoatse Kwame Beqoe explained that his decision to join the NDC, despite being a traditional figure, stems from his vision for his community and his desire to support a political party aligned with the betterment of his people.

He remarked in Twi, “At first, people say traditional leaders are not supposed to be affiliated to any political party; however, my vision transcends beyond that. I am supposed to lead my people in choosing the right candidate who can help build my community.”

He criticized the current administration in the Amasaman Constituency for failing to assist the electorate and asserted that it is time for change.

Asafoatse Kwame Beqoe expressed confidence that the NDC will win the Amasaman Constituency seat and is optimistic they will perform better than the current administration.

“As you are aware, this walk is not a constituency walk but just three electoral areas, and looking at the numbers, this should tell you that the NDC is going to win this election,” he noted.

He also appealed to his people to vote for the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Sedem Afenyo, to help develop the constituency.

In closing, he took the opportunity to thank the constituency chairman, assembly members, party executives, and voters within the constituency for their continued support.
