A newly constructed 16-bed capacity male and female ward at the Saaman Health Center in the Fanteakwa South District has been officially commissioned, marking a significant development in local healthcare.
The commissioning ceremony was led by Hon. Ernest Ofosu, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa South, who expressed his joy over the completion of the facility, which is fully furnished with beds, televisions, medical equipment, and other essential appliances.
During the ceremony, Hon. Ofosu acknowledged the pressing need for improved healthcare infrastructure in the area, stating that while there are still challenges to address, the new ward will significantly alleviate some of the healthcare delivery issues faced by constituents.
He emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to bringing healthcare closer to the people of Saaman, ensuring they have access to quality services that will contribute to their health and productivity.
The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Fanteakwa South, Mr. Duke Ofori Atta, also spoke at the event, assuring attendees that he would provide all necessary equipment to ensure the admissions ward is fully operational.
He expressed gratitude for the new facility and promised to execute more developmental projects in the district if elected in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections, urging constituents to support the NPP.
District Health Director of Fanteakwa South, Mrs. Margret Nyarko, praised both the DCE and the Parliamentary Candidate for their initiatives aimed at improving health services.
She noted that the new facility brings significant relief to residents of Saaman and commended the rapid response to their request for adequate admission wards.
According to her, the commissioning of this health facility emphasizes government’s ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in Fanteakwa South and demonstrates a commitment to addressing community health needs effectively.
