Ashanti Region: GES receives support ahead of Ghana Teacher Prize 2024

The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate has received support from Twellium Industrial Company Limited towards three days Ghana Teachers Prize 2024 in Kumasi.

The Ghana Teacher Prize, formerly known as the National Best Teacher Award, is an annual event aimed at recognizing and celebrating outstanding teachers across the country.

The award highlights the dedication and professionalism of educators who go above and beyond to impart knowledge and positively influence the lives of students.

This year’s theme, “Valuing Teacher Voices Towards a New Social Contract for Education,” reflects the growing need to engage and empower teachers in shaping education policies and reforms to ensure an inclusive and quality education system for all.

As part of their corporate social responsibility, Twellium Company limited supported the Ashanti GES with 12000 bottles of water and carbonated soft drinks to serve to the participants who will be coming for the three days programme.

The Ashanti Regional Deputy Director for Ghana Education Service, Thomas Kwame Boateng, noted that the teachers award starts on Thursday and Friday with symposium, which will be graced by Vice President Dr Bawumia at Sunset Hotel.

He added that President Akufo Addo will be present at the grand durbar of the Award programme at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Mr Boateng explained the award will cover both teaching and non-teaching staff in the region to motivate them to give their best to improve educational sector in the region.

He commended the company for their kind gesture to facilitate the award programme.

For his side, the Ashanti regional Trade Marketing Manager, Patrick Yeboah explained their objective of supporting the teachers Award.

He emphasized the importance of education and the role of teachers in national development.
