The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has scheduled an important meeting with the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) today at 5 PM, a critical step in addressing the association’s long-standing grievances.
This announcement follows MOWAG’s public expression of frustration regarding the government’s failure to fulfill promises related to improved pay, enhanced working conditions, and adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) for its members.
MOWAG has announced plans to withdraw their services starting Thursday, September 26, if their concerns are not addressed.
Speaking on Hot FM’s Aye Hu on Hot FM, a Senior Officer at Nsawam Government Hospital, Nana Wiafe, highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that despite numerous negotiations with the government, little progress has been made.
Nana Wiafe emphasized that the well-being of mortuary workers is at risk due to the lack of proper PPE, which poses significant health hazards.
