You’re too stubborn- Goaso Paramount Chief to EC Chair

The Paramount Chief of the Goaso Traditional Area in the Ahafo Region, Nana Akwasi Bosompra, has voiced his concerns regarding the ongoing controversies surrounding the voter register as Ghana approaches the 2024 elections.

During a meeting with National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, Nana Bosompra warned that unresolved issues could escalate into electoral violence if the Electoral Commission (EC) does not take immediate action.

Nana Bosompra criticized the EC Chairperson, Jean Mensah, for her perceived stubbornness and failure to heed wise counsel regarding the voter registration process.

He emphasized that it would not serve the interests of Ghanaians if the EC continued to ignore legitimate concerns raised by the NDC.

“The EC must take steps to listen and resolve these concerns to avoid chaos,” he cautioned.

In response to the chief’s remarks, John Dramani Mahama assured attendees that the NDC is committed to ensuring fair elections in December.

He reiterated the importance of addressing the grievances surrounding the voter register to maintain peace and stability in the country.
