Our administration’s achievements in road construction are unparalleled in Ghana’s history- Asenso-Boakye

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has defended the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration’s record in road infrastructure development, asserting that it is unmatched by any previous government.

His comments come in response to former President John Dramani Mahama’s skepticism regarding the government’s claim of constructing 12,000 kilometers of roads.

Mr Asenso-Boakye emphasized that from 2017 to the end of 2023, the current administration has completed an impressive 12,830 kilometers of roads, a significant increase compared to the 4,636 kilometers achieved during Mahama’s tenure.

He made these remarks while addressing the media at Tafo Station in Kumasi, where he also announced plans to dualize the Kumasi-Tafo-Mampong road.

He stated emphatically clear that the AKufo-Addo-led administration’s achievements in road construction are unparalleled in Ghana’s history, highlighting various types of road works undertaken, including new constructions, rehabilitations, and the construction of critical bridges.

In contrast, Mahama has questioned the validity of the government’s claims about road construction, suggesting that they lack transparency.
