Mahama promises to establish a medical school in all Bono Regions if elected president

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to establish a medical school in at least one of the Bono, Bono East, or Ahafo regions if elected as president.

He highlighted the existing medical schools located in Greater Accra, Central, Northern, Volta, and Ashanti regions, which serve various parts of the country, and emphasized that the Bono regions deserve similar educational infrastructure to train healthcare professionals.

During his address to the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs as part of his regional tour, Mahama criticized the current government for failing to provide adequate infrastructure in the newly created regions since their formation from the former Bono Ahafo region.

He accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of merely creating these regions without ensuring they are equipped to thrive.

In addition to his commitment to establishing a medical school, Mahama promised to improve infrastructure in these regions and enhance their road networks.

He also vowed to support agriculture by ensuring farmers have access to fertilizers and outlined plans for social interventions aimed at creating job opportunities for the youth.
