Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) may seek a recall of Parliament to compel the Electoral Commission (EC) to audit the voter register ahead of the 2024 elections.
According to Dr. Forson, an audit is crucial to address irregularities and ensure that the upcoming elections are free, fair, and transparent.
Speaking during the NDC’s nationwide demonstration against the EC in Accra, Dr. Forson expressed deep concerns over alleged tampering with the voter register, stating that the party cannot overlook the discrepancies.
He stressed that the NDC’s demand for an audit stem from its commitment to maintaining peace during the election.
Dr. Forson urged the EC to take swift and transparent action to ensure a peaceful and credible election. He also called on Ghanaians to demand accountability from the EC, reminding citizens that their role in the upcoming elections is vital.
