The Kaneshie Deanery Catholic Catechist Association has officially sworn in its new executives on September 14, 2024, in Accra.
The newly elected officials are:
- Chairperson: Catherine V. Ahiedzi
- Vice Chairperson: Joachim Konyo
- Secretary: Emmanuel Kwesi Owusu
- Deputy Secretary: Emmanuel Binding
- Financial Secretary: Margaret Amoakoh
- Treasurer: Marie Nutsugah
In her address to the media, newly sworn-in Chairperson Catherine V. Ahiedzi outlined her vision for the association, stating that under her leadership, sub-committees will be formed to regularly visit members and provide support to those facing financial constraints.
She emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of community among Catechists.
Mrs. Ahiedzi also announced plans to hold meetings in different parishes, allowing members to visit about 12 parishes throughout the year.
She urged all Catechists who have not been attending meetings to adhere to the rules and participate regularly.
Additionally, she encouraged members to pay their dues promptly and work diligently to enhance the work of God.
“They should work hard so that the priests can see their good works. When they see we are working hard, they can assist us when the need arises,” she added.
Mrs. Ahiedzi concluded by wishing the newly sworn-in executives success in their roles and encouraged them to make the work of God interesting and attractive to draw younger generations closer to the faith.
