The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has emphasized that the selection of a woman as the party’s running mate signifies its commitment to an all-inclusive and participatory government.
Currently on a retail campaign tour in the Central Region, Asiedu Nketiah is targeting market centers and strategic economic hubs to promote the NDC’s message.
While addressing market women and party supporters at the Kasoa New Market, he asserted that the NDC is the only party that values the input of all societal classes in informing key government decisions.
Despite facing mockery directed at the NDC’s running mate, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, regarding her fashion choices, Asiedu Nketiah stated that the party remains unfazed.
He encouraged women to support the NDC, highlighting that Opoku Agyemang’s role as vice president would create numerous opportunities for women.
During his address, he officially introduced the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Kasoa, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, urging constituents to vote for her.
Okunor, in turn, called on traders in the Kasoa enclave to vote for change, promising that the NDC would construct modernized and sustainable market centers equipped with essential facilities such as health services, water supply systems, and kindergartens for the comfort of traders.
