Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to promptly address issues surrounding the 2024 voter register to avoid potential electoral violence.
During a courtesy call by former President John Mahama and his team to Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital, and the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II urged the EC to adopt a posture that fosters trust and confidence among political parties rather than creating doubt.
The visit was part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign in the Bono Region, where the Bono Regional House of Chiefs expressed their expectations for a future NDC government and shared concerns about national matters.
Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, voiced his fears regarding the ongoing discussions about Ghana’s voter register, describing the situation as alarming and discomforting.
Dormaahene emphasized the need for the EC to take decisive action to address the concerns raised by political parties, particularly the NDC, regarding the integrity of the voter register.
He cautioned that failure to resolve these issues could lead to electoral violence, which would be detrimental to the country’s democratic progress.
