The Korea Importers Association is not convinced with the promises made by Dr Mahumudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, NPP regarding taxes being charged at the port.
Dr Bawumia while, speaking at the NPP’s manifesto launch in Takoradi said that his government will prioritize the strengthening of businesses in order to enhance their growth and boost both the economy and job creation.
He said he will harmonize port charges to align with charges in competing regional ports, particularly Togo to be same or lower.
But the Korea Importers Association is not impressed with these promises.
According to the Organizer of the Korea Importers Association, Mr Ernest Ofosu, if Dr. Bawumia, who currently serves as Vice President of Ghana, has not been able to effectively carry out certain functions during his tenure, there is little assurance that he will perform better as President.
