The National Peace Council has engaged with the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to discuss the contentious issue of signing a peace pact ahead of the upcoming elections.
This meeting follows the NDC’s declaration that it will not sign any peace agreement until key issues causing unrest are addressed.
The NDC’s National Chairman has reiterated the party’s stance, arguing that the peace pact proposed by the Electoral Commission and the Peace Council lacks significance in the electoral process.
During the meeting, Mawuvi Bin Salin, a member of the Peace Council, emphasized the importance of peace and the need for goodwill and trust to foster a collaborative environment.
He expressed hope that constructive dialogue could help bridge the gap between the NDC and the Peace Council, ultimately leading to a more stable electoral atmosphere.
