Mahama promises job creation and infrastructure development ahead of December elections

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has pledged to create more jobs for Ghanaians, particularly the youth, if he wins the upcoming general elections on December 7.

During his visit to Hohoe in the Volta region, Mahama emphasized that while his previous administration focused on significant infrastructure projects, his new government will prioritize both infrastructure and job creation.

Mahama introduced his ambitious “24-Hour Economy” initiative, designed to enable businesses to operate around the clock. This initiative aims to generate employment opportunities, especially for young people, and enhance living standards across the country.

According to him, the 24-hour economy policy is designed to create new employment opportunities, address unemployment, and enhance living standards in Ghana and in addition to job creation, Mahama promised to complete abandoned road projects in Hohoe and upgrade the local clinic at Hohoe Adabraka to a polyclinic status.

Mahama stressed that his administration’s focus on a 24-hour economy is expected to involve collaboration between the government and the private sector, with plans to implement favorable tax policies and support for industries such as agro-processing and manufacturing.
