Fulani youths in Kwahu Afram Plains, Eastern Region, have issued a one-week ultimatum to the government to apprehend the killers of four of their colleagues who were beheaded in recent months.
The latest incident occurred over the weekend, bringing the total number of Fulani victims to four, all of whom were buried yesterday.
In a media address, Ali Abdullai, the youth secretary of the Afram Plains North Fulanis Association, highlighted the ongoing mistreatment of the Fulani community and called for immediate action from law enforcement agencies.
He warned that if the perpetrators are not brought to justice, the community will take matters into their own hands to identify those responsible for the killings.
General Secretary of the National Fulani Association in Ghana, Alhaji Yakubu Musah Barry, urged the government to recognize the killings as a national security threat that could undermine the peace in the country.
He emphasized the need for urgent intervention to address the violence against the Fulani community.
The chief of the Fulanis in Kwahu Afram Plains North, Alhaji Idrisa Sambo, echoed the call for justice, stating that tensions will only ease if the authorities take decisive action.
