The Minister of State at the Energy Ministry, Herbert Krapa, has urged the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to accelerate the provision of meters to its customers.
This call comes amid a backlog of over one million meters, which is negatively impacting power supply and revenue collection.
During a working visit with ECG officials, Krapa expressed concern over the slow pace of meter distribution and emphasized the need for a quicker process to address customer challenges.
He stressed on the importance of ensuring constant electricity supply as a priority.
ECG’s Director of Customer Services at the Head Office, Dr. Belinda Dwamena, highlighted challenges related to customer behavior.
She revealed that some customers are deliberately damaging their meters to steal power.
Dr. Dwamena encouraged customers to consult ECG for any service they require.
