Dear Ghana Education Service,
I am writing to bring to your attention an issue regarding senior high school students parading in New Patriotic Party (NPP) T-shirts to welcome the Vice President and the NPP flagbearer in the Upper East Region on July 29, 2024.
The students were brought out to welcome Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia while their peers were in class. This action took place on a Monday when schools should be conducting regular teaching and learning activities.
The public is closely monitoring the involvement of students in partisan political activities by some political figures. We are eager to see what actions you will take against those responsible for this action and what punishments will be implemented to discourage similar occurrences in our educational institutions, particularly at the pre-tertiary level.
Never before in the history of our country have students been involved in such political activities. I am concerned about this and hope to see appropriate sanctions imposed on those responsible.
I trust that this matter will receive your prompt attention and that appropriate action will be taken.
Sincerely,
Concerned Citizen
Seidu Zakiu
