The Chief Executive Officer of Maxwell Investment Group, Dr. Maxwell Ampong has called on government to invest more in STEM education, because is vital in addressing global challenges such as climate change, healthcare, and sustainable development.
To him,Ghana needs individuals who can apply scientific knowledge and engineering principles to find innovative solutions to complex issues confronting the globe.
He urged policymakers and society to recognise the importance of STEM education and invest in creating robust STEM programmes to ensure a brighter future for the next generation and the world they will Shape.
Dr. Maxwell alluded that it’s bestowed on government to role out some policies that can keep STEM students abreast on the expertise knowledge they have acquired.
He pointed out that every economy in the world thrives on infrastructure to grow,adding the critical role STEM education will play if much attention is given to it.
Dr. Maxwell Ampong echoed that the more Ghanaians get involved in STEM the micro economy of the country will automatically shoots up which directly affect the country’s Gross Domestic Product(GDP) positively.
He made this assertion at the outstanding Teachers summit pioneered by Ghana’s most outstanding Teacher 2022.
Stella Gyima Larbi, Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher 2022 stated that the Outstanding Teachers summit is to bridge the gap between academia and industry players and to inspire new generation of Teachers.
She opined that the summit also aims to inspire teachers to evolve and meet the demands of ever-evolving education landscape,emphasizing on innovation and hands-on-skills acquisition.
According to her, teachers are catalyst for change in their respective domain and therefore, there is the need to create platform for educators to share their ideas among others.
