Togolese Movement for Restoration(MTR) has called on international stakeholders to intervene in the political crisis that is happening in Togo.

Leader and Presidential candidate for MTR, Dr. Jean-Emmanuel Gnagnon alluded that as the leader of MTR in Togo,he is going to rally international support against the recent constitutional changes in Togo.

The University of Togo Lecturer believes that the changes will undermine democracy and fundamental human rights of Togolese.

Addressing Journalist in Ghana, during his visit to Ghana, Dr. Jean-Emmanuel Gnagnon expressed his disapproval of the new legislation, which grants parliament the power to elect the president, which automatically deny citizens their right to elect their President.

According to him,the recent constitutional changes adopted by the Togolese legislatures on March 25,2024 has sparked controversies from various quarters.

He is optimistic that by seeking support from international partners,Togolese Movement for Restoration will build a strong coalition to challenge the undemocratic forces in Togo and ensure a brighter future for Togolese.
