C/R:PATIENTS STRANDED AT ASSIN FOSU POLYCLINIC AS NURSES EMBARK ON SIT-DOWN STRIKE

Patients at the Assin Fosu Polyclinic in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region are currently stranded due to a sit-down strike by nurses and other medical staff.

The strike is a result of the shortage of medical doctors at the polyclinic.

According to anonymous nurses interviewed by Kasapanews,the polyclinic has been operating with only one doctor for the past 7 years.

And in the absence of the doctor, the nurses are forced to handle all patient care, which is affecting the quality of healthcare delivery.

The nurses are also concerned about their working conditions and have vowed to continue the strike until their demands are met.

Meanwhile, some of the stranded patients shared their ordeal with Kasapa news Yaw Boagyan saying no nurses or any health worker is ready to attend to them.

Some of the patients had to traveled long distance to seek a medical attention at different District.

The patients are appealing to the authorities to as much as possible to address the concerns of this health workers.
