
The district manager of Juaso forest division of Forestry Commission, Madam Priscilla Asomani has revealed that Asante Akim municipality has exceed their target by planting 1 million trees”.
Mrs Priscilla Asomani used the medium to called for support from the Ghanaians to help monitor the trees planted in order to achieve a sustainable project.

Madam Priscilla Asomani warned those taking illegal activities in the forest reserve within her jurisdiction to stay from or face his wrath.
She expressed worry about how some individuals continue to enter into forest reserve to operate without the authority of the commission which she thinks is undermining the efforts putting up by the key stakeholders like the government, forestry commission, Nananom and other international organizations to protect our forest reserve.
Madam Priscilla Asomani gave this warning during Green Ghana day ceremony held at Obogu in the Asante Akim South municipality.
On his part, Hon Ransford Asante, presiding member for Asante Akim South municipality, speaking on behalf of the municipal chief executive, Hon Alexander Frimpong,underscored the need for stakeholders to support the commission in protecting our forest reserve.
The Queenmother of Obogu traditional council, Nana Afia Pokua II, called on individuals citizens to support forestry commission in protecting our forest reserve to fight against climate change.
