Albert Kwaben Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), has expressed strong support for Ghana’s Nuclear power initiative, emphasizing its crucial role in resolving the nation’s energy challenges.
Addressing the importance of a workshop on Nuclear power, especially in light of Ghana’s energy crisis known as “Dumsor” or “Dumsiesie,” Dufour highlighted the progress made in advancing the Nuclear power agenda. The workshop, titled “Media Support For Ghana’s Nuclear Power Project,” reflects the role of media in achieving the country’s Nuclear power targets.
Nuclear power is recognized as a reliable and efficient source of energy with zero-carbon emissions and a significant impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As media professionals, there is a need to educate the public about the benefits of Nuclear power and dispel any unfounded fears and myths associated with it.
Ghana, like many other African countries, faces significant energy challenges, and the growing population and economy demand reliable and sustainable energy sources. Nuclear power offers a clean and efficient solution to these challenges.
The Ghana Journalists Association pledged to provide accurate and balanced coverage of Ghana’s nuclear energy development, focusing on its benefits and addressing legitimate concerns about the country’s energy demands.
