The Chiefs and elders of Kwahu- Nkwatia have finally accepted and outdoors Nana Boamah Ayiripe II, as Chief of Nkwatia after seven years of litigation dispute following the demise of Nana Atuobi Yiadom IV.

Nana Ayiripe II was introduced to the Chiefs and people of Kwahu Nkwatia and was carried shoulder-high through the principal streets of Kwahu Nkwatia township amidst dancing and drumming symbolically to show that there was a new chief for Kwahu Nkwatia.

Speaking at the outdoor celebration at Kwahu- Nkwatia in the Kwahu East District, Nana Boamah Ayiripe II, thanked the council for ensuring peace and tranquility among chiefs, elders, and people of the Kwahu Nkwatia community stressing, the gesture would open doors for developmental projects to uplift the image of Nkwatia to a befitting standard and entreated the citizens to help him to accomplish his dreams in peace and unity.

He furthermore stressed that he had forgiven all those whose actions and inaction brought about the litigation and his doors are open for reconciliation to accelerate the progress of the traditional area, emphasizing that “without peace, unity and tranquillity, the development will not be possible.

The event attracted sub-chiefs, kingmakers, elders, queen mothers, and Citizens of Kwahu Nkwatia to express excitement about the ceremony that at long last, the chieftaincy dispute had ended.

On behalf of Kwahu Traditional Area “Benkum Division,” Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah II, expressed his gratitude for the support exhibited so far by the kingmakers and all the divisional chiefs of Kwahu Nkwatia in making the process peaceful and stressed the need to have a united front and forge ahead as one family to ensure development in Nkwatia and admonished the Chiefs to work hand in hand with the new Chief.

At the joyous occasion, he advised the chiefs and the people of Nkwatia Kwahu to forget about the past and eschew all the negative activities that brought about the disputes with its attendant atrocities which had hindered the progress of the traditional area.
