The Ghana Skaters Association, GHASA, will be organizing its first programme for the year, dubbed “Ghana on Wheels, Rise Above the Rest,” beginning with Decathlon, Kawukudi, Nima Accra, and finishing up at Borteyman, the venue for this year’s Africa Games.
Skating has risen to become one of the most formidable sporting disciplines in the country in recent times and has gained recognition as an Olympic sport.
President of GHASA, Johnson Gameli KPORTUFE is very optimistic that the programs lined up this year will go a long way towards rekindling the skating spirit in the athletes.
“We intend to channel more resources into the game and make it even more attractive in the sporting space, he added.
The Ghana Skaters Association (GHASA), formerly known as the Federation of Roller Sports, is the only national governing body in Ghana for all sports performed on skating wheels.GHASA currently operates under the auspices of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
GHASA is bent on focusing on youth development and sensitizing the community through sports and positive social vices.
