Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has welcomed the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) release of the second tranche of Ghana’s extended credit facility.
The Finance Minister sees the approval of an additional $600 million for Ghana’s bailout program as a positive indication of the country’s progress in its economic reform trajectory.
Ofori-Atta made these remarks during a joint press conference between the Ministry of Finance and the IMF on Friday, January 19, 2024.
The disbursement of the second tranche follows Ghana’s successful negotiation of deals with bilateral lenders, including China and France, in the previous week.
