Starting from Monday, January 22, Commercial Transport Operators in Ghana are implementing a nationwide 30% increase in transportation fares.
The rationale behind this decision lies in the substantial rises in the costs of lubricants, spare parts, and DVLA service charges, according to the operators.
In an official statement, the operators underscored the escalating expenses within the public transportation sector, emphasizing the difficulties in sustaining their operational activities.
Additionally, they drew attention to the mounting costs of spare parts, particularly for maintenance and repairs, which have significantly impeded their ability to keep their vehicles in optimal condition.
