Affected traders of the Dome market inferno have kicked against moves by the government to allow a private developer to reconstruct the market.
They have vowed to oppose and resist any attempt by the Ga East Municipal Chief Executive, Elizabeth Kaakie Mann to allow the said private developer to reconstruct the market without their consent.
About fifty (50) stalls were destroyed by a fire outbreak in some parts of the Dome market on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Wares running into millions of cedis were destroyed leaving the affected traders in despair.
Meanwhile, the leader of the affected traders Joyce Nyarkoa addressed the media as suspected arson.
She accused the Ga East Municipal Assembly of allegedly destroying the market to allow a private developer to reconstruct the market.
Some of the affected traders vowed to resist any attempt to evict them for the alleged reconstruction project.
