Vice President Bawumia urges priority for Creative Sector, supports singer Asantewaa Aduonum’s World Record attempt

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasized the urgent need to prioritize the creative sector and unlock its immense potential.

He acknowledged the abundance of talent in the country, citing singer Asantewaa Aduonum’s attempt to break the world record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.

During an interview at the Akwaaba Village in Accra, where he showed support for Aduonum, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the insufficient investment in the creative sector, despite its potential for job creation and foreign exchange earnings.

The Vice President urged all Ghanaians to support Aduonum in her record-breaking endeavor, acknowledging the challenges she faces in attempting such a feat.

“What Afua is trying to do is to break a world record, and it is not very easy to do. So on a day like this [Christmas day] when everybody is spending time with their families, It could be very lonely, and I think that as Ghanaians, we should give her all the support and encouragement we can,” Dr. Bawumia expressed.
