President Akufo-Addo has called on all institutions involved in Ghana’s fight against corruption to conduct a thorough evaluation of the country’s inaugural “National Anti-Corruption Action Plan” (NACAP 1).
The President made these remarks during the launch of the evaluation event at the Jubilee House in Accra on December 21.
NACAP 1 has been in effect for nearly a decade and proposes new anti-corruption measures that will serve as the foundation for NACAP 2, spanning the period from 2025 to 2034.
It serves as Ghana’s national framework for driving anti-corruption activities and promoting national development, featuring strategic action plans identified and agreed upon by stakeholders through a nationwide consultation exercise.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of evaluating NACAP’s contribution to the fight against corruption across various sectors.
He refuted accusations of interfering in investigations into corruption allegations against his appointees, citing instances such as the case involving former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah.
The President asserted that he has allowed mandated institutions to carry out impartial investigations into corruption allegations involving government officials.
