Isaac Adongo, the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee in Parliament, has leveled accusations against the Office of the President, alleging reckless and irresponsible expenditure following Parliament’s approval of GH₵2 billion for the office in the 2024 budget.
Adongo claims that several institutions under the Office of the President, including the Chief of Staff’s office, the Press Office, and the Cabinet Secretariat, exceeded their allocated budgets, as identified by the Finance Committee.
Expressing concern, Adongo questioned the source of the additional funds used by these offices and called for responsible financial management to avoid overspending.
He specifically criticized the Chief of Staff Secretariat, characterizing it as “reckless” in its expenditure practices.
