GJA President vows to confront attacks on journalists in the coming year

Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), has announced that the association will actively confront attacks on journalists in the upcoming year.

He expressed concern over the increasing incidents of attacks on journalists and media houses.

During the GJA Annual Dinner Night held on Thursday, December 21, Mr. Dwumfour emphasized the association’s commitment to responding fearlessly if any journalist or media house faces an attack.

He outlined that the GJA is prepared to use various strategies, including legal actions, media blackout, and other strong measures, to counter such attacks.

Mr. Dwumfour called on institutions that prioritize the country’s democracy and security to collaborate in addressing impunity against the media.
