The Electoral Commission has announced the rescheduling of the District Level Elections (DLEs) in certain areas of the Ashanti and Eastern regions to Thursday, 21st December 2023.

The decision to reschedule was attributed to various technical challenges encountered during the initial attempt.

In an official statement, the Commission expressed regret for any inconveniences caused in those specific electoral areas and reassured voters that the elections would proceed as planned on the newly designated date.

Reports from the Ashanti region indicate that several districts, including Bantama, South Sontreso, Atwima Nwabiagya, Atwima Mponua, Dadeso, and Santasi, did not participate in the electoral exercise on the initially scheduled date.

The Commission acknowledges the need to address these challenges and has taken steps to ensure a smooth and successful electoral process on the rescheduled date.
