National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah, expressed disappointment over the comparatively low budgetary allocation for his ministry in the 2024 budget.
The ministry had initially requested ₵2.5 billion to address election-related issues and respond to emerging internal and domestic terrorism threats.
However, the 2024 budget statement and economic plan revealed that the Ministry received only ₵1.6 billion, falling short of its initial request.
Despite the shortfall, Minister Kan Dapaah assured that his ministry would make do with the allocated amount and remain committed to ensuring the nation’s security.
The minister conveyed his remarks during a session in parliament, highlighting the challenges posed by the reduced budget and emphasizing the ministry’s dedication to maintaining the safety and security of the country.
