The Minority in Parliament has raised allegations against the government, accusing it of attempting to grant a substantial tax waiver of 7 billion Ghana Cedis to individuals affiliated with the trade industry.

This revelation follows the disclosure of an existing request for a 5 billion Ghana Cedis tax waiver, ostensibly presented as incentive packages for the One District One Factory (1D1F) policy, currently before the Finance Committee.

In a press briefing, Yussif Sulemana, the Ranking Member on the Trade and Industry Committee, cautioned that the Minority would vehemently oppose any efforts to impose additional taxes on Ghanaians if the government persists with these perceived unfavorable tax waivers.
