Vice President Bawumia calls for peace in Bawku amid ongoing conflict

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called for an end to the conflict in Bawku, Upper East Region, stating that the ongoing conflict has resulted in the unnecessary loss of lives.

He emphasized that such deaths are avoidable.

Additionally, Dr. Bawumia noted that the conflict has adversely impacted economic activities in the area, bringing them to a standstill due to the ongoing tensions between the Mamprusi and Kusaasi people.

The Vice President made these remarks following his visit to the Paramount Chief of Kusaug Traditional Area, Naba Asigri Azoka II.

The purpose of his visit was to express gratitude to the Bawku Naba for his prayers and support during Dr. Bawumia’s bid to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia urged the feuding factions to consider themselves as one people and encouraged them to coexist in peace.
