The National Insurance Commission organized a one-day forum for its members to explore the use of technology and innovative approaches in line with the new Insurance Act and advancements in the insurance sector.
The workshop, themed “The New Insurance Act: Unlocking the Insurance Industry Potential via Innovative Technology,” aimed to foster a deeper understanding of technology’s role in the evolving landscape of the insurance industry.
In the forum held in Accra, the Acting Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Michael Kofi Andoh, emphasized the commission’s commitment to deploying technology as a means to address challenges and spur growth in the insurance sector.
The event brought together key industry players such as the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), the Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG), and other insurance companies from both Ghana and West Africa.
Mr. Andoh urged industry stakeholders to embrace technology and innovative methods to proactively address challenges within the sector.
The forum served as a platform for discussions on leveraging technology to enhance various aspects of the insurance industry.
During the event, Elias Omondi, the Principal of FSD Africa Innovation for Resilience, shared insights on how technology and innovation can contribute to the growth and promotion of the insurance industry when strategically employed.
